RESPONSIBILITY
Designed in Melbourne, Australia, ONE OF OTHERS conveys our point of view in consideration of the whole wardrobe, a sensibility towards contemporary yet enduring garments becoming one within a larger picture of dressing. The brand was conceived on the premise in which our pieces become ‘one of others’, within the existing wardrobe, living within the collection of pieces you already own. Our goal is to create pieces that evolve with the wearer beyond a single season.
Fundamental to our values is a consciousness not to overproduce, in an industry synonymous with waste. We prioritise smaller production runs, with our retailers all ordering prior to production on a made to order model. While we will continue to learn what our community wants to see from ONE OF OTHERS and be able to make more informed decisions, our priority remains to produce collections with longevity and minimising over consumption.
We are also trialling a TRUNKSHOW model, whereby we offer our community a chance to shop the collection before it goes live to the public. In future, we hope to roll this out prior to production in order to not only allow our community the opportunity to secure their favourite seasonal pieces, but also further avoid over producing.
PARTNERSHIPS
Over a short time, we have developed close relationships with our manufacturing partners who are well established and share our values. We promote fair working conditions and only work with suppliers who are aligned with our business as well as audited by external bodies including SMETA Ethical Trade & Social Audit Certification and/or BSCI Certification. As we grow, we look forward to deepening these relationships and evolving with our suppliers into the future.
PACKAGING & SHIPPING
In alignment with our values, we send our online orders in 100% recycled paper (post-consumer used) packaging sealed with 100% compostable, and recyclable water-activated tape. Within our supply chain, we have invested in biodegradable, compostable and non-toxic corn starch garment bags in which all our apparel is transported, minimising our use of single use plastics across the business.
EXTENDING PRODUCT LIFESPAN
If there is ever a point where your ONE OF OTHERS piece no longer has a place within your wardrobe, we will happily accept it’s return so we may donate it through one of our charitable partners and extend the garment’s lifespan. In doing so, we will credit you 20% of the purchase price to use on your next ONE OF OTHERS piece to thank you for your support.
